Number 1 student in Somaliland's GCSE in 2009-2010 ----Cabdilaahi Xasan Cadnaan Cabdilaahi..

Bearing in mind that
Sunni Muslim civilization, you can realize that conflict and clash in between the two representatives is inevitable. Despite the manifest and clear effects of this clash, there are latent and invisible effects it induces to the both sides particularly on Somalis.
In this article I will try to show a small glimpse on the latent side which is clearly reflected by the vanishing Somali identity that is in its peak nowadays.
Somali ancient history is still a place of dispute; tens of Stories are told about the Somali ancestries, but most of them are merely lies. Some do believe that Somalis are Arabs others believe that they are Oromo and others claim they are from
In my point of view a Word Somali with out no Geographical borders means the following
1-A muslim
2- A person who speaks the Somali language ( including MayMay and Banadiri dialetcts)
3- A person who embraces the Somali culture.
A Muslim because if he is not a Muslim he will not abide by the Somali culture thus breaking two rules out of three which makes that person to be incompetent to be a Somali.
Now about the Origin issue, Instead of trying to be followers why not try to be the leaders and say we were on this land far before the Arabs or the Oromo— what an idea huh….---- But the bottom line of my story is , Be what ever you are but finally you are Somali not an Arab or oromo , We the Somalis are a different entity now We don’t look like neither arabs nor the Oromo, We speak neither Arabic nor Oromo, But all of us are humans from Adam and Eve and We are proud to be a Muslims.
So dear Somali reader Your ancestors are gone , but you are here and you are Somali forever…..
Homeostasis is the normal functioning of the human body systems which are built on inert mechanisms and any problem or up-normality that arises in it would be a pathological condition. Homeostasis is the way Allah made our body to function.
Homeostasis involve the control of our body temperature, fluids, plasma composition and concentration, Breathing and respiration, Hormonal communication, Neural and muscular signaling, Metabolism & many other mechanisms that take place in our perfect body in order to make it function properly.
Now let me give a glimpse of what do I mean by Homeostasis as a promising successful way of life. Allah said in the quran “[95:4] We created human being in the best design” . so it is duty to us the humans to know our body and use it as a basis of life and I am sure we won’t regret as we did with many other laws except the righteous Islamic shari’a which it’s self cherishes the human body, because no body knows us more than our Creator Allah (caza wa jal). In another way Allah tells us that anything that harms the human body will thus harm the whole community around that person. For example Islamic shari’a bans Alcohol, in medicine we do not recommend alcohol in another terms Doctors ban Alcohol because of its many effects to the body leading to many diseases and complicating others. Well known disorders of the human body that are caused by the Alcohol include Liver cirrhosis, pancreatitis, some cancers and the list never ends.
Another example is smoking which is banned by the Islamic Shari’a, also it is medically banned because it is the main- if not- the only cause of lung cancer.
So you - the reader - can conclude that everything that harms our body will harm the whole society and you can see that alcohol and smoking are despised by the society and any person who practices those bad habits is not socially welcomed by those who do not consume such body destroying habits.
It is unfortunate that I have no space for a large discussion of this matter but let me just give some another examples of it.
Imagine our body as a functioning system or a country (take it as a metaphor) the citizens or individuals of this country are the the different cells in our body, nervous system as the government of this country and Homeostasis as the rules and regulation the citizens should abide by not only that but also as the constitution of the country that monitors governments activities. any breach or malfunctioning of one sector of this system can lead to disastrous results to the whole parts and individuals of this system.
From here we can qoute a Hadith by our beloved propher Mohamed (Peace and prayers be upon him) "The Mu'umins "Real believers" are like the human body that if one part of it is sick all the other parts would suffer with it by fever and insomnia"
From here you could understand how even the Rasul (scw) used this metaphor to demonstrate how interrelated a society could be. There can be times our body doesn’t cooperate but those are all pathological the least example is chronic insensitivity disease which is actually a rare and disastrous because our body will not neither report nor cooperate to solve a problem for example a break in the bone or a burning in the skin. So you can see how pain is very important in a society, feeling pain of our brothers problems is part of our duty not only that but to help him cope with that problem as our body does a demonstrating example would be increasing circulation during exercise or cardiac malfunction that is to compensate and deliver nutrients especially oxygen to the cells.
Individually homeostasis can be applied., take individuals as the cells in our body. Our cells abide by the rules of Homeostasis and sometimes they violate those rules but with a jurisdiction for example during a cut in a skin some of our cells switch to another regulation called coagulation in order to stop bleeding, but when the crises (bleeding here) ends it reverts to its normal regulation which was homeostasis, a good example will be martial law ( laws during war) in which individuals are acquired to do things that were not allowed before, In Islam there is War prayer which is quite different than normal prayer which cannot be performed by the army in war.
Now if an individual goes against that rules set by the shari’a or law it will be disastrous not only to himself but those around him and finally the whole community, Good example is cancer which a group of cells who violated every rule of homeostasis and finally will make the whole organism collapse unless removed and the remaining ones destroyed.
In the conclusion of my short discussion I want to say "If there is something perfect it would be the physiology "Homeostasis" of the human body"

Sorghum originated in the north-east quadrant of Africa and spread from there throughout Africa and into India. In 1994, sorghum ranked fifth among the most important cereal crops of the world after wheat, rice, maize, and barley in both total area planted and production.
Eighty percent of the area devoted to sorghum is located within Africa and Asia, with average yields of 810 and 1150 kilograms per hectare, respectively. In 1992, sorghum was planted on approximately 5.4 million hectares in the United States with an average yield of 4,566 kg/ha and a farm value of over $1.7 billion. Grain sorghum plants are coarse annual grasses. Nearly all varieties grown in the United States are "dwarf" types, with stems under 5 feet in height and suitable for harvesting with combines. Many taller- stemmed varieties are grown in other countries.
Grain sorghum is well-known for its capacity to tolerate conditions of limited moisture and to produce during periods of extended drought, in circumstances that would impede production in most other grains. Sorghum leaves roll along the midrib when moisture- stressed, making the plant more drought resistant than other grain plants. Like corn, sorghum can be grown under a wide range of soil and climatic conditions. Unlike corn, however, sorghum’s yield under different conditions is not so varied. Consequently, it is grown primarily in arid areas where corn wouldn’t make it without substantial irrigation.
Sorghum is an important part of the diets of many people in the world. It’s made into unleavened breads, boiled porridge or gruel, malted beverages including beer, and specialty foods such as popped grain and syrup from sweet sorghum. In Africa, the straw of traditional tall sorghums is used to make palisades in villages or around a homestead. The plant bases are an important source of fuel for cooking and the stems of wild varieties are used to make baskets or fish traps. Dye extracted from sorghum is used in West Africa to color leather red.
Sorghum starch is manufactured in the U.S. by a wet-milling process similar to that used for corn starch, then made into dextrose for use in foods. Starch from waxy sorghums is used in adhesives and for sizing paper and fabrics, and is an ingredient in oil drilling "mud." The grain can be a source of grain and butyl alcohol. In the United States, sorghum is a principal feed ingredient for both cattle and poultry. Its protein content is higher than corn and about equal to wheat. Its fat content is lower than corn but higher than wheat. Tannin, an acidic complex, can affect both the taste and nutritional value of sorghum.
Historically, sorghum with a high tannin content was desirable because it’s not palatable to birds. High tannin sorghum is still grown where birds are a problem, but, in the United States, reduced-tannin sorghum has been developed, improving nutritional value by as much as 30 percent. Sorghum has a very hard kernel, which makes it resistant to disease and damage, butmaking it harder to digest for animals. Sorghum is ground, cracked, steam flaked, and/or roasted, to enhance the nutritional value 12 to 14 percent. Some sorghum, sudangrass, or sorghum-sudangrass hybrids are poisonous to horses. The exact cause is not known. There’s currently no treatment for this poisoning and affected horses rarely recover.
Benjamin Franklin is credited with introducing broomcorn to the United States. While traveling in Europe, Franklin was impressed with a small broomcorn broom he used to clean his hat. He found a few seeds attached to the straw, and took them with him when he returned to Philadelphia. He planted the seeds and initiated an industry. Arcola, Illinois is known as the "Broom Corn Capital of the World." Since the late 1800’s, area farmers grew the sorghum used in the broom industry. The broom corn is processed in Arcola and brooms sold across the country. Arcola holds an annual Broom Corn Festival each September.
